James Larkin would have been an Irish citizen by birth had he been born in Ireland. However, his birth was one in Liverpool. His father and mother did not have much but the slums to call home.

Mary Ann McNulty would grow older as she watched her children progress in life, but not James Larkin senior. The latter had his last breath when James Larkin had just turned 14. He had been one loving father and a more supportive husband, but there was nothing to do with death since nobody has power over it.
James Larkin did not know much of hard labor because he was still a boy. He had little experience working without supervision because he had done this when he was schooling.
His initial gain would be providence to the family. But since his father was gone, he was trying to find something bigger and better. He was lucky that the leadership of the firm his father worked for knew him. They decided that a single chance wouldn’t hurt. James Larkin, therefore, got employed.
His employment was one that was met with a lot of gladness. 24 months later, the management told him that he had to be fired. If he had asked for a reason, he would have been told that his experience was below the required level and that he should have worked harder to maintain his position and keep the family alive and well.
Jim Larkin knew more than to cry over spilled milk. He sought other places and firms that would require his services without favoritism. Jim was unlucky because firms were not known to employ lads below the age of 18.
Most of these companies knew that they would incur major losses if they employed someone who was inexperienced and could not be able to handle hard labor well. James Larkin, therefore, remained that way without having any employment for quite some time.
Robert Ivy has been named the executive vice president and chief executive officer of The American Institute of Architects. Taking over the position from February 1, 2011, Ivy will manage the company’s office in Washington, DC. Running an office with 206 employees and $56 million annual budget, he will control operations regarding design and practice issues.
Robert will also support AIA members through collaborative efforts with national and global divisions. AIA is a United based company supporting architects and other professionals in the construction and design industry. The organization was established in 1857 and currently has over 90,000 licensed architects and related professionals who are members.
George Miller, AIA 2010 President said that they are thrilled to have Robert occupying the position. He revealed that Robert possesses the kind of corporate leadership skills and experience sought by the board. He welcomed him to the institute and thanked the outgoing EVP/CEO for his devotion and diligent leadership. FAIA 2011 President, Clark Manus expressed his delight to start working with Robert. He declared it a fundamental moment for both AIA and the industry at large. Clark explained that the business should take advantage of emerging opportunities regardless of the difficult times in the past.
Robert Ivy said that he has always been proud to be part of a brand that stands for professional ethics and topmost standards of design. This illustrates the significance of design to clients and the society. Robert expressed his anticipation to working with the Board, staff, and components to enhance the business for the benefit of present and future members. He added that he was committed to the position as well as success and practices of members.
Since 1996, Robert has been the company’s Editor in Chief of Architectural Record. He also served as the VP and Editor Director for McGraw-Hill Construction. McGraw-Hill Construction is responsible for the editorial quality of construction and design publications. Prior to joining AIA, Ivy had served Dean/Dale, Dean and Ivy as the managing partner for around 14 years.
Robert has contributed greatly to the architectural industry including addressing environmental, social and political issues affecting the business. Due to his efforts, Ivy has received several awards and recognition. He was honored with the Crane Award and documented Master Architect by Alpha Rho Chi in 2009 and 2010 respectively. Robert holds a Bachelor of Arts and Masters in Architecture from the University of the South and Tulane University respectively.
Desiree Perez is a bold force to be reckoned with in the music industry. She is a the mastermind behind the scenes of quite a few big deals that have been made over the past few years. As a COO of Roc Nation, she plays a variety of different roles and does each one well. She has most often been in the spotlight for her fierce negotiation skills. She has received a lot of praise for negotiating for Beyonce’s Formation stadium tour and a deal made between Rihanna and Samsung. Most recently, she has been vital to the success of TIDAL.
TIDAL is a streaming service that Jay Z and a few of his colleagues in the music industry started in 2015. Desiree’s involvement with TIDAL has played a key role in the company keeping up with its competitors, and even earned her a few accolades. Most recently, Desiree was named to Billboard’s “ Women in Music 2017: The Most Powerful Executives in the Industry” list. The deal that earned her this title was a deal struck between Sprint and Tidal. Essentially, she negotiated Sprint making a $200 million investment in the streaming company. This deal has brought many layers of success in that it has helped the streaming company’s numbers and helped in making Jay Z’s latest album, 4:44, as insane of a success a s it was. Her name is not quite a household name yet, because she works so silently, but soon enough the whole world will know who Desiree Perez as her success continues on this trajectory.
