Hussain Sajwani is the founder and Chairman of worldwide property development company DAMAC Properties in UAE. Hussain Sajwani graduated from the University of Washington. He began his profession as a Contracts Manager in GASCO, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company. Then after a short period, he set up his business. In 1982 he started his catering venture. Hussain Sajwani was also one of the pioneers of the property market expansion in Dubai.
In the mid-90’s, he built hotels for the people who move in for business and trade. In 2002, he got the market opportunity and established DAMAC Properties, which has become one of the biggest property development companies in the Middle East. Hussain Sajwani is an expert in the field of property development and the company ranges from having expertise in marketing, sales, legal, finance, and administration departments. These have been the key drivers of the company’s success and today it has a few renowned projects in key worldwide cities like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Amman, Beirut, Jeddah, Riyadh, and London. The DAMAC property now depends on three standards; first, they hold no debts for land that is constantly paid 100 percent from the beginning. Second, escrow accounts are independent; they won’t transfer money from one account to another. Third, they retain money reserves, in fixed deposits or government securities adequately so that if the market turns they can support the development plan.
The Ramadan initiative was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai in which Hussain Sajwani donated a cheque of AED two million to the campaign for one million needy children and that donation provided clothing and warmth to more than 50,000 children in need. Recently, in 2013, DAMAC worked with Donald Trump to develop two Trump-branded golf projects in Dubai developments. On the New Year eve, Donald Trump also mentioned Hussain Sajwani, his business partner in Dubai as Sajwani’s company, DAMAC Properties, has built the Trump International Course Dubai. In the desert kingdom of Dubai, the billionaire Hussain Sajwani is also planning to enhance his business relations with Donald Trump’s real estate firm, the Trump Organization.
